LED-spectrum shaping by optical filter achieves CRI exceeding 97
Jun 17, 2009
By using thin film optical filter over six LEDs—warm white, deep red, green, blue, royal blue, and UV researches from National Central University (Taiwan) achieved CRI easily exceeding 97.
Modulating the driving current of each LED combined with the optical filter composed of layers of titanium dioxide (TiO2) and silicon dioxide (SiO2), successfully achieved CCTs that ranged from 4000 to 10,000K, which covers the needs of most practical applications.
